Ken Raimondi's 67 Convertible

After a little hibernation period this beautiful red 67 Convertible was brought out for a little refreshening up.

After removing the bumpers and giving it just a good bath. Looking pretty already.

After removing the front and rear suspensions to freshen things up. (Control Arm Bushings, Ball Joints, Sway Bar Bushings, Coil Springs, shocks, Half-shaft U-Joints, Trailing Arm, Strut Rod Bushings, Front and Rear Wheel Bearings, Gas Tank, Exhaust, Plugs, Wires, Belts, Carburetor, etc.).

After pulling the gas tank we found the Build Sheet in place. Slightly weathered, but somewhat legible. The sheet shows options:

STD:    Standard Black Trim
L79:     327/350hp Turbofire V8
G81:    Posi Rear Axle (With 3:70 Gears)
M21:    Close Ratio 4speed Transmission
STD:    Standard Black Top
C07:    Auxiliary Hardtop
U69:    AM/FM Radio

Being it's an original numbers matching engine and had been sitting for a period of time it was agreed that the engine should be freshened up before trying to start it. The engine was pulled and will get a standard rebuild to insure that it's in good  running order.

While the engine is being rebuilt the engine compartment is detailed as well as the rest of the engine and other parts. The forward wiring harness and A-Arm covers were also replaced.

The seats were removed and will be recovered. The carpeting will also be replaced.

The front and rear suspensions have been renewed and the following work performed:

The Fuel Tank, Sending Unit and Rubber lines were replaced

The Exhaust System from the Manifolds Back was replaced

The engine was completely rebuilt and the following work done: Main and Rod Bearings, Polished Crank, Bored/honed .30 over and new pistons, Cam, Cam Bearings, Lifters, Valves, Springs, Seals, Freeze Plugs, Flywheel surfaced.

Body prepped and ready for paint. A lot of work went into getting the body ready and once painted this is going to be one pretty 67 Convertible.
